The Buncombe Breastfeeding Coalition is a joint effort to improve breastfeeding equity and support.

Breastfeeding Family Friendly Communities - Henderson County

The Henderson County Breastfeeding Coalition is made up of interested community members and is always seeking new members.

Western NC SAFE Team

The NCBfC SAFE Team (NCBC Coalition for Support and Advocacy for Infant Feeding Emergencies Team) is currently actively working in the Western NC region to provide critical infant feeding support, guided by the expertise of Infant Feeding Specialists.

Breastfeed Durham

The mission of Breastfeed Durham is to support a more breastfeeding and family friendly Durham by advocating for policies and practices that support breastfeeding, chestfeeding, and human milk feeding, as outlined by the World Health Organization (WHO).

All are welcome to join the Breastfeed Durham team. Membership is free, and there are several different levels of involvement.

Breastfeeding Family Friendly Communities - Chatham County

Community nonprofit organizations, social organizations, community advocates, healthcare providers, parents, and community members are welcome. Please reach out for more details and to be added to the mailing list.

Breastfeeding Family Friendly Communities - Franklin County

Franklin County is working towards the Ten Steps to a Breastfeeding Family Friendly Community. This is not just about providing lactation support to families; it’s about changing the very systems with which families interact.

Breastfeed Orange

The mission of Breastfeed Orange NC is to promote community-led action to create a more breastfeeding, chestfeeding, and human milk feeding family friendly community by advocating for policies and practices that support families to meet their infant feeding goals. Breastfeed Orange NC brings together families, advocates, community groups, organizations, and agencies.​

Wake County Human Services’ Northern Regional Center (NRC) Breastfeeding Support Group: Liquid Gold

Mission Statement: The NRC Breastfeeding Support Group (BFSG) is dedicated to promoting, protecting and supporting breastfeeding through education, outreach and advocacy to improve the health and well-being of infants, young children, and their families.

Tri-County Breastfeeding Coalition

Founded under the name “Best Fed Beginnings” this group of health care professionals and community partners has been actively promoting breastfeeding since the 1990’s. Renamed Tri-County Breastfeeding Coalition in 2005, our mission is to promote and support breastfeeding as the norm for moms and babies in New Hanover, Pender and Brunswick counties. Quarterly meetings are held in Wilmington.

Onslow County Breastfeeding Coalition

Mission Statement: Connecting resources to educate, promote, protect, and support breastfeeding as the norm for mothers and babies in Onslow County.
